Just read where CA has to release 10,000 prisoners due to over crowding, I wonder how many new prisons are contained in the stimulus package?

First off, .25 Souper is one hell of a cartridge; perhaps the best of the wildcats; my hat's off to you.

When government creates jobs, it's expensive, history has proven that. But when government spends on infrastructure, the results are very hard to put a sum to. During the New Deal, we created bazillions of miles of new roads and literally invented the trucking industry. Private industry has made 100 fold on the investment over the long term.

I'm not for pork, but I'm for this stimulus plan. No, it's not perfect by a long shot, but if we sit on our hands and do nothing, then we're screwed. Every economist will tell you the key to a recession is to have government spend our way out of the recession. It has worked many times before and it's not a mystery anymore.

Kennedy did it in the '60's, Reagan did it in the '80's and Bush did it in the '90's. This one's bigger and uglier and will require a bigger investment.

Don't kill the messinger here, most economist agree this is how you do it. Again, it's not perfect, but it's the way out. If it makes anyone feel better, my bet is that Bush (both of them) would back this stimulus plan.

One of the many, many things about that buffoon that irritates me is his constant whining about "inheriting" this mess. For crisake, he spent tens of millions of dollars to get the job so "he" could fix it. Now, he says he found it when he walked into his new office.

What a .....

I feel your pain, but prisons cost a bunch of money and create few jobs. What's more, they become a constant drain on the government.

'bout the only thing I can say is, start packin.

There's alot of empty land out in the desserts. It would be cheaper to put up a big tent city to house prisoners than build traditional prisons. I know, whaaa it's hot in the desert.Boo Hoo,don't do the crime if you can't do the time.

Everytime history repeats itself it gets more expensive.
