Skippy said he wouldn't be taking questions at random a few weeks ago. The WH is selecting journalists before pressers that can ask questions and I believe they have to submit the questions beforehand as well.

I'm game. Tell me what part of Obama's domestic and foreign policy you look forward to. Specific policy changes, not just the ambiguous, generic, feel good stuff the masses have been passing around.

FB, you and I have gone round and round on this one, but I'll play along.

Energy (deja-vu all over again???) with the exception of no domestic drilling and nuclear, I think Obama's energy plan is the first realistic plan to come along in a long time. Bush started the ball rolling with the Energy Policy Act of 2005 and then watered it down with the 2007 version. Obama's plan is solid with the exception of nuclear and domestic drilling. Even without those two, his investment in alternative energy resources (non-alternative needs no investment, they work), is excellent.

On foreign policy:

Negotiating with Iran: For the past 30 years we have taken a hard line with Iran and it has netted us dick. Negotiating can't hurt...really, it can't.

Missile shield in Eastern Europe: Stupid waste of resources. Missile shield...good idea. Eastern Europe, against Russia, where MAD has worked for 55 years; big waste of money. Russia gets it, play with us and we'll level you back to the stone ages.

Now, spend that money placing a missile shield in Israel, Japan, South Korea and India...now you're talking most bang for the buck. Eastern Europe is the least bang for the buck. Russia knows and respects our Boomers and Bombers.

Well you pass on nuclear & domestic drilling as casual exceptions that really are the only proven viable solutions, the rest is theory.

Wind, wave, solar, bio-diesel, ethanol, these are all alternative energy that have been paraded, then turned out to be rank with unintended problems and not as efficient as most had hoped.

Obama will chose to put the money in the unproven and virtually will ignore what is reliable and proven (nuclear, domestic drilling), and you call that a good energy policy?

What hard line? Saber rattling. Now if we'd bombed their one refinery or the two oil shipping terminals you could say hardline. Our issues with them would have ended. We wouldn't have even needed to envade just an air and sea blockade nothing in nothing out. Six months max and the world would have known the paper tiger was no more.

No energy plan, without increasing short/mid term supply, will be effective. The Dem's have paid lip service to alternative energy for decades, but when the time comes to build it, they don't want it in their backyard. One need only look to Cape Cod and the support the limousine liberals have given the Cape Wind project.

Investing in alternative energy is fine with me, but we've heard this song the last three presidents and worse, this one has no interest in keeping supply up in the interim, until the investments can pan out or be built. The result will be European oil prices in a country that requires cheap transportation to survive. We don't have European ass transit and we're three times as large as Europe, not to mention we are not urban centric like they are. The result will be further economic heartache in order to make a few of Obama's special interest groups happy and what happens if technology isn't there after the investments to keep up with rising demand and decreasing domestic supply? He's betting our future on a horse that's never raced.

We will have to agree to disagree on Iran. I'll bet a case of beer, kissing their arse won't net us any change and his approach will likely weaken our standing in the middle east as these people do not respect weakness, which is what Iran is already perceiving from Obama by their mocking of him this past week.

Missile shields aren't high on my priority list. You may be right, you may not be. I simply haven't given it much thought as a high priority issue.

I have to say if those few items are enough to leave you enthusiastic, I envy the small plate you're concerned with. Obama's policies that have me nervous and concerned, number in the dozens.

When he starts negotiating with Iran he's going to end up like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football.
