So other than all things associated with the (in)famous spiderbull, does anyone have any information or photos of what a real DIY archery hunt would be like in the Monroe unit?
Any links would be greatly appreciated and please post some photos of these great bulls!!!

good luck drawing a tag, unless your have 8 to 9 points forget about it, I deer hunt the unit, to me its not that great of bull unit, its harder to draw than others and doesn't offer better bulls IMO, I am not sure why actually that is one of the harder to draw tags, maybe its because access is so good to many parts of it, there are 4 wheeler trails everywhere, making getting a down bull out much easier, I will put it like this, I have never put in for that unit as my choice before

Probably not much help, but Google Earth may give some great overviews of an area your looking at.
There are no bad days hunting elk, some are just better.

MR- Don't worry, I'm not all that smart, as it was sorta hinted at on another site by some folks you know...

Congrats on picking up the tag. I noticed it while checking my own unlucky results...
Anyway I hunted Monroe archery elk in 2005 and could probably provide a little info. If anything I could put you in touch with a buddy that helped me on my hunt. He knows the unit very very well and he's a Primos staffer. Let me know.

Thought I'd fire this one back to the top..... we're doing some pretty heavy duty planning now for this hunt..... Any info would be great. I've got the maps, I've spoken with the experts, I've spent enough time on Google Earth to fry my brain.
Guess what our biggest problem is now.....
I drew my own LE Utah Elk Tag so I'll HAVE to split my time between two different amazing units in Utah.

What a conundrum huh Mark For some reason I bet you and Andrew end up with a couple nice elk! So are you going to take your new longbow? (the wood one that is)

I'm glad at least someone's getting to hunt branch antlered bulls in this state! Good luck. PS- Which unit did you draw?

There's some good bulls in the North Cache, but they can be spread out. There's a wilderness area or two above town that I've heard of holding some bulls.

I'm looking forward to a great experience in Utah... between two archery tags in two units on opposite sides of the state, things will really have to fall into place for both of us to fill our tags, but then again... it's hunting... It'll be a great time no matter what!!!
