In hopes that enough support from the Campfire Brethren will bring some wishful thinking true, here is my 2010 Factory Hunting Rifle Wish List for Kimber and Marlin. If all of these were brought to market, I would sell a good portion (all?) of my current rifles to make room for these:

#1 - Kimber Montana Rimfire in 17HMR
#2 - Kimber Montana 84M in 223 Rem (just keep making them long enough for me to get one this fall ... grin
#3 - Kimber Montana 8400 in 338 RCM w/ 22" barrel and NO open sights ...
#4 - Kimber Montana 8400 in 375 Ruger w/ 22" barrel and NO open sights ...

If Kimber doesn't oblige, Sako is more than welcome to build a 338 RCM Finnlight and 375 Ruger Stainless Synthetic Hunter ...

#5 - Marlin 1895 Guide Gun in 45-70

  • Stainless Steel (preferably everything so as to get rid of the nickel plated parts; use some Ti to lighten things up a bit)
  • 18.5" Barrel
  • Big Loop Lever, HD Ejector
  • XS Sights Winged Ghost Ring Sights (not the rail used on the SBL) ... and don't notch the barrel where the rear site goes on a standard GG crazy
  • Kevlar/Composite Stock
  • Trinyte Matte Black Finish - complements of Remington
  • Magna Port - 2 Port
  • Decelerator Pad

#6 - Marlin 1894 Guide Gun in 45 Colt (same as 1895 above but with 16.5" barrel; able to handle +P loadings) ... would be an excellent match to my Ruger Alaskan 454/45 ...

So ... what is on your wish list? Anyone want to support my cause and flood the OEM's with emails, letters and phone calls???

I wish Kimber would put a 1:8" twist barrel on their .260 Rem.

I wish Winchester would ship more of the new model 70s to Australia, and offer the Featherweight in 6.5x55 again.

Actually, I wish all the manufacturers would offer the 6.5x55 or the .260 Rem chamberings (with a 1:8" twist). grin

I don't want much. laugh

A CZ sporter 5.7X28 MM rifle would be fun for me to play with. 1:9 inch rifling to handle the little .224 Dia 35 Gr V-Max and 40 Gr SP bullets. Not quit as fast as a 22 Hornet but still good for shots out to 175 yards at prairie dogs.

Just to be different:

Remington 7600 in .338 Federal wearing laminate furniture. I'll take it in either the carbine or rifle length, I'm not picky.

25 SAUM in a Remington that would fit three cases down.

Next up would feed the black rifles I would like see.
A PS90 that takes pistol cartridges.
A Styer AUG style bullpup in a Remington 6.8spc. It would have to have 5 round magazine so I could take it hunting.

More .308 Win's from Remington in their top line deer rifles, I think they would still have a good market for their 7mm.08 with hunters wives and kids.............547.

As long as were dreaming, An American made Over and under Double rifle, Single trigger, Stainless barrels and receiver. Chambers starting at 375 H&H and going up, Also an optoin to get a big bore over a 12 ga. chamberd for 3&1/2 mag. with screw in chokes. with adjustable regulating barrels for windage for around $2,000.

No matter how good a rifle looks if it shoots over 1 inch groups its ugly.
