I need help with my savage 64f .22 semi-auto which is still new,
but after disassembling for cleaning per the manual, I then put
it back together in reverse, and now when I pull the trigger it
goes click but no fire or mark on the bullet! The first time I did this last year, it worked fine, but I've repeated the steps several times, and still "click" and no fire. According to the manual, you're suppose to pull the trigger to "disengage" the hammer from the sear, and I may have not done this properly.
I don't want to take weeks sending this back to savage, is there
anyone that has some simply ideas to fix this "simple" screwup?

Thanks, Earl.

I don't know the problem, but be sure, whatever you do, when using live ammunition to test whether or not a rifle will fire, BE SURE you keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

The firing pin does not make a mark on the bullet. It is the rim of the case if rimfire, and primer if centerfire.

I what you wrote is a simple mixup in the names of the various components, then you should have no problem.

However, if you actually think the firing pin strikes the bullet, I am not sure you should be messing with live ammuntion at all.
