I shall now require all female visitors to my home and property to disrobe immediately. I'll cite the foregoing as my right to so require. Good luck! In my area, only 1 out of 50 women I'd actually want to see nekkid! Nudity should be like wearing spandex...it's a privilege, not a right!
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

My dad had a JC Higgens 12 gage pump when I was a little kid (long ago)and he shot many pheasants with it too. California busted Sears Automotive hard early in the 90s - I was living in Redondo Beach and it was a real scandal. Govt employees, pretending to be customers would take perfectly good cars into Sears Autonotive Centers and the bonus-motivated mechanics would do thousands of dollars of unnecessary work - every time! I almost never shopped in one since then except for tools. The big store here in Austin is run down and unplesant - I always feel like I'm not wanted there by staff or other customers. Probably go the way of Monkey Ward.

VAnimrod , you missed the point...
IF SOME MEMBER OF THIS FORUM , OR SOME MEMBER OF THE NRA OWNED SEARS.. YOU CAN BET YOUR BUTT THAT FIREARMS WOULD BE ALLOWED TO BE CARRIED CONCEALED, BUT THE "TYPE OF OWNER" IS EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE, THEREFORE ANTI GUN.. AND SETS ANTI GUN POLICIES..
HERE IN COLORADO.. LIBERAL CRAPHEAD BUSINESS OWNERS TRIED TO PULL THAT BS ON AUTHORIZED CCW PERSONS.. WE GOT A STATE LAW ENACTED THAT TOLD THEM TO STICK THEIR LIBERAL CRAP AND THAT WE CAN CARRY IN BUSINESS ESTABLISHMENTS EXCEPT WHERE ALCOHOL IS SERVED WHICH IS A FEDERAL LAW...
AND IT WAS SOME DAM LIBERAL EVERY TIME THAT TRIED TO STOP CCW PEOPLE IN SOME BUSINESS... REGULAR NON LIBERAL BUSINESS OWNWERS WELCOMED CCW PEOPLE....
IN CASE YOU DONT REMEMBER, IT WAS OUR GIRL IN THAT CHURCH THAT PULLED HER PERSONAL PISTOL AND SHOT THAT GUY WITH THE ASSUALT RIFLE A COUPLE MONTHS BACK AS HE HAD JUST KILLED 3 PEOPLE IN THE PARKING LOT AND WAS HEADED INSIDE WITH 4 WEAPONS AND A TON OF AMMO..ON SUNDAY DURING SERVICES...
IF WE HAD NOT ENACTED THAT LAW..SHE WOULDNT HAVE HAD HER GUN THAT DAY... AND ALOOOTTTTTTTTT OF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE DIED...PROBABLY CLOSE TO 100 OR MORE...
SO AS FAR AS ANY ANTI GUN CRAP...THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS..IT DOESNT MATTER WHERE ITS AT.. ITS WHAT IT IS...ANTI GUN CRAP..
SO THE FINE POINT IS THIS..THEIR IS PRIVATE PROPERTY IN AND FULL OF PUBLIC PEOPLE... AND THEIRS PRIVATE PROPERTY LIKE AT HOME
WHEN THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IS ACCESSING THE PRIVATE PROPERTY... THEN SCREW THEIR RIGHT TO TAKE YOUR PROTECTION AWAY..AND MAKE YOU HELPLESS.... IF YOU WANT TO BE DISARMED IN PUBLIC / HEY THATS YOUR PERSONAL RIGHT... ILL ABSTAIN..
BUT THANK YOU FOR YOUR POINTS OF VIEW...ENJOY READIN YOUR POSTS.

An earlier post in this thread said:
"What you do have to counter, however, (and I think y'all oughta know I'm an ARDENT 2nd Amendment supporter) is the right of a private property owner to establish rules governing the access and use of their property (here, an employer - Sears) vs. the rights of a citizen to keep and bear arms. You have two fundamental rights that here are opposed. Given that the employee knew (or should have known) the rules, accepted them, then violated them, while he could have decided to seek employment elsewhere (i.e. he wasn't forced to work or be there), then the rights of the property owner who MUST own and maintain the property will likely trump those of the citizen who only MAY work or visit there at the property owner's will." And this made me think that there is a "public" aspect to running a store or business etc. What if Sears wanted to bar Jews ? Blacks ? They wouldn't be allowed to as it is against the Bill of Rights. Well, the 2nd Amendment is in the Bill of Rights too. So as we all know, the Government has it's favorites, and gun rights isn't one of them. I will take the time to let Sears know I have no intention of doing business them again until they change there position.

Religions and races are something that you are, not something that you do. Sears is not banning the gun owner just the gun

The only thing that Sears has done right -yet- for many years is Craftsman tools. This story is disturbing, because I supported Sears. In addition to "the only thing right" quoted above, Sears paid all military members (mainly Guard and Reserve types) their salary when so many got activated after 9-11. I thought that was a hugely stand-up thing to do. Now I'm torn. Do I continue to support them for that, or avoid them for the gun issue (although I "partially" understand, and come semi-close to at least somewhat agreeing, with a company being allowed to specify their rules of employment, even if I don't agree with them)?

I gotta agree with this line of thinking. The guy knew the conditions of employment, and chose to accept that job, with those conditions. I'm a full supporter of the 2nd Amendment, and the RKBA, but don't believe that it is an end-all, absolute, trumps everything else, right. Don't believe that? Walk into an airport and try to go past security. Walk into a federal courthouse and try to get through the metal detector. Try getting a DUI with a pistol on your hip and see if the charges don't start to run up. Tell me how any of it works for you, when you claim your 2nd Amendment rights.

Well, I definitely think it's the right of the business owner to set the rules for their place(s), but that doesn't make the policy any less idiotic. No more Sears for me.

...and he realized just how close he had come to joining them...
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.
