I have begin to notice that the sites on my 1895 guide gun are a bit weak. When the light starts to fade they almost dissapear, the game doesnt dissapear so why should the sites. My question is what are you guys using for an alternative? I was thinking mabye one of those fast aquisition red dots may work well or perhaps a fiber optic site. Do not want to use a scope as the rifle is mostly for bear repelent, and I will be loading some 500 grain soft noses as high as I and the gun can handle.

I have Ashley Ghost Rings on my guide gun, for low light you can use a larger ring.

I too use the WWG setup with this exception. Maybe it's just me but I use a rifle hard, and long before I ever took the rifle afield the front sight bent with the firesight insert groups completely off the paper! Didn't want that to happen in a hunting situation, so now I use a Sourdough ramp front sight with the WWG ghost ring, works very well for me, but could see the definite advantage of having a tritium insert put into the wide front blade. 1akhunter

Will the WW setup work on my 1894?
