Huckleberry Finn's
When Mark Twain was growing up as a young boy along the Mississippi, I'm sure there is some adventures that he carried throughout his life. I've often wondered if he could point to any particular one event that was a crossroad in his life. Maybe it would have been something simple as a survival techniques his father might have demonstrated that left a lasting impression. My point is can anyone from the old school remember something or the first thing about guns your dad show you that left a lasting impression?

All,
I'm certainly no Mark Twain , especially considering my writing skills. However ,there is something we both have in common. Within walking distance of the farm I grew up on was a Creek named (Conococheague), which is an Indian word. One of the ways my dad supported our family was seining for live bait likes stonecats that he would sell back then for ten cents each. Sometimes the three of us (my brothers and dad) would work all night into the wee hours of the morning catching bait , bullfrogs and so on.

That is OK Miles, I have repented. See my answer to rick_g in the "Let's cut larry some slack" thread. I no longer see him again, sorry for the lack of entertainment, but it is unfair to pick on the mentaly and emotionaly challenged!

Anyway , to try and get the subject( Huckleberry Finn's ) back on track , I'll give you my most memorable experience as a young boy demonstrated by my dad. Before we were ever allowed to handle a high-powered rifle the first thing he showed us was its capability. He shot a watermelon using his 30-06 at 100 yards with typical soft point ammunition to demonstrate what can happen if the bullet hit human flesh. Guess what, it works especially for young minds.
We probably don't need to show those types of old techniques to our younger generation these days, because they are now everything, just ask them. They belong to the NRA. LOL <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
