They're never in stock at my dealer's distributor (Jerry's). Are they just back-filling orders or did the stop shipping for some reason??

They're up to their eyeballs in back-orders.
That, and I think you're dealer is blowing smoke.

They're plentiful down here in the Atlanta area. Every store has them in stock that normally carries them. Kahrs are easy to find too. We're short on Ruger LCPs and a model or two of the Springfield XD.

Have any of you KT sluts checked out SCCY Industries? I heard the head guy is an ex-KT engineer. SCCY Industries

I bought a Sccy CPX-1 on a whim a couple of weeks ago. It seems to be better made but it is not perfect. If you have medium to large hands, the web of your hand moves the safety lever back to "safe" during recoil. I just took it off, shortened the lever and re-installed. It is nice now. The trigger pull is long but smooth. No malfunctions of any type and I have about just over 300 rounds through it. It is accurate as a short barrel can get. I am comfortable enough with it that I use it as my carry gun now.
When I got home and did some research, there was a lot of internet banter about failures and them getting a bad name so they changed from Skyy to Sccy. Doing some digging, the Skyy vodka folks filed for trademark infringement forcing the name change to Sccy.
All-in-all I am happy with it especially for the price (<$250).

T Lee,
What makes you say that? IMO, the plastics are not quite up to Glock standards but are way way ahead of K-T. As to lack of QC, it is hard for me to make a statement either way as I only have a sample of one. What are the grounds for drawing your conclusion?

One of my shops had been selling them and quit due to customer returns and complaints. I was totally underwhelmed with their quality. A cheap KT copy IMHO.

I guess I got lucky and got a good one. I figure w/ 300 rounds (without cleaning) and no failures I can count on it when needed.

Kel-Tec is ok, but for the money, buy a Taurus PT140 or 145... much better gun, negligible size difference, and larger capacity.

true.. but for the size, I'd rather have something a tiny bit larger, that will put an assailant down right now. Concealable? size is not as issue. I carry a Glock 17 and a 1911A1 full size year round, and haven't had an issue keeping them concealed, but decided to try something a little smaller. the kel-tecs are just too small for my hands.

I can carry a Glock 17 inside the waistband but its not comfortable, same with a 1911. I really like the Kahr PM9 however, costs more than the Keltec however. I broke the Keltec I had two times so I gave up on it after it got fixed the second time, bad luck I suppose, but maybe I shoot more than some folks. The PM9 has been remarkably accurate and reliable. I may clean it some day I guess. I like most Rugers but would not own their current Keltec knock off, what is it the 3rd recall or something??

Hard to argue with your statements, because I'm sort of the same way. My 5" 1911 (or G27 if it's hot and I'm lazy) rides with me everywhere. I'm a huge fan of large, heavy bullets for protection. But I also have a K-T 3AT, that serves as a backup, and round the house 24/7 gun. It goes on in the morning just after my socks, and before my wrist watch. Yes, it's a very small gun, but that's also it's charm. The optional pocket clip is the BOMB for convenience, and for hiding in plain sight disguised as folding knife clip. Don't sell the little K-T short without trying one first.
