A few days ago we got a call from some outfit called "Privacy Matters". It may or may not have been legit but I didn't like the aggressive, slick, snake's attitude from the start. He was a poor listener and even slower learner.
I ended up just hanging up on him and forgetting his pitch or his call.
Some time later, I tried to check my Visa account and had a problem pop up, suggesting I should call them.
Come to find out the 'Privacy Matters" group had authorized a monthly charge to my account of $19.95. Somehow they had all my account data right, except the expiration date. Because of that one small error, the CU refused to honor the account claim.
I believe the CU has it fixed from their end but I'm on guard for another phone call from the PM slicks.
Watch out for them...Privacy Matters.
