Most likely 1/12 but you can use a cleaning rod and tight fitting patch to measure it to be sure.

If it's 1:12, which it most probably is, the 55gr bullet is about as long (heavy) as you can go.

id say 52-55.. 62 might be pushing it
sp 1 has a 20 inch barrel
so do what hound va said try a rod and patch
if it is a 1-12 the rod should rotate 1 and 2/3 times around by the time the patch comes out the other end

it is 1-12, never shot anything over 55 in it.

64gr powerpoint supposedly works in them but I've never tried it.
