2. Same as Grizzly Bill: I came across a pack of Porkies sitting in trees and felt they were conspiring to jump me as I walked below them. So I figured that I better get them before they got me. Purely self defense in my opinion. Never trust a Porky.

Always unless we're in the US or a National Park.

Have had to load it two times so far, but never fire. It was nice to have something to load.

Dwayne

Kind of: Once when I was out antelope hunting (during the rut) I shot a doe. The buck she was running with didn't like that very well. I shot her @ about 450 yards or so & when he saw me walking up he started making short charges at me. I jacked another round in the chamber and thought "how am I going to explain to the game warden I shot this antelope in self defense". He let me get with in a couple of hundred yards before he took off. Antelope are freaky during the rut.

Another time was when I was out elk hunting with my brother. We were going down an old rail road bed & met another hunter coming at us from the other direction. We stopped & talked with the guy for a little while. Something about him gave me the creeps. He turned & went back towards the way he came & we did the same. I did not like having my back to him so I reached down and took the latch off my pistol in case I needed it quick. That is the closest that I have ever came to drawing my gun on a human.

There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor polite, nor popular -- but one must ask, "Is it right?"
