I have three P14 actions in excellent condition.They still have the sight ears .I was, at one time,planning a series of rifles,identical in all ways except for cartridge.I have three of them,in 30.06,7MM REM,and .300 Win Mag.At this point I don't think it likely I'll ever build the additional rifles,hence the extra actions on hand.
They are in all ways identical to the P17 action,except for the bolt face,which actually would require less work than the P17 if a belted magnum or other cartridge with larger head than standard '06 size is planned.
I'm wondering if anybody could give me an idea of what they might be worth ? I have one more which has already been sporterized,which I'm still dreaming of turning into a .416 Rigby some day.Not sure whether it would be worth it to sell the three in "original" condition,or wait for personal prosperity to return, and carry on with my original plan.

I'm kind of amazed at the underground interest in Enfields. There was enough demand that we are making custom bottom metal. I suspect in smaller circles, these are very desireable...value? dunno.

unless you are planning to use the .303 british cartridge, the extractor, follower and spring and magazine box has to be changed to .30-06 size in most cases. i used a p24 action to build up a .458 win mag rifle and, hundreds of hours later, am very happy with it. would i do it again? no, its cheaper to buy a rem, win, or ruger!

The rails of the Pattern 14 are different than the rails of the Mod 17. Quite different.

Anyone familiar with the Clarke Eye-shield for use with Enfields?
