Anyone ever tried one of these scope reticles for these smaller vermin?
I drug out a Marlin 17 HMR that needed a scope on it, and the cheap one on it crashed and burned ( a BSA and I won't do one of those again)...
I didn't want to cannabalise another scope from another rifle, and had a Leupold 6 x with a target dot, but thought that is not enough power...
I have a 3 x 9 Leupold with the German # ONE reticle in it.. I have always liked this reticle so I have decided to try it on this rifle...
Anyone ever used one of these style reticles on game that small?
I thought I would try it out to see how it goes...

Seafire,
I have the #1 and I think I'd run your 6x on that rifle. I love the #1 and have used it on coyotes out to about 300 but I think you'll be disappointed on PD's.
Holding over is a beatch on targets that small IMO. Just makes stuff disappear.

I am a fan of that particular reticle as well, but am thinking that small targets like you mention, would be one of the less favorable applications for it.
