Thanks.

My step dad has that 115 Yammi 4s on his lund. He loves it. It is kind of quiet until you open it up, then it is normal. I love the sound of those Merc Optimax's but the size of boat I'm looking for probably won't have them. Well, not in the years I'm looking at anyway.

Tell Sherpa the local LEO's are warning if they catch you on the river you WILL go to jail. During the '97 flood some guy was cruising the river on a jet ski and the wake almost made one of the giant earth dikes fail. Does Sherpa have a jet ski? grin

There are currently thousands out sandbagging and the national guard has been called in. It's ugly. I'm glad my house is 25 miles from that river!

All that open water and we can't even get on it. grin

Sorry, I shouldn't joke about that river. It could be trouble. I just want to fish.

No, not trying to steal it. I've been looking for a while at Rangers and ran across this series of posts. If you have a deal set fine. If not I'd sure like to know more.
Either way, I,m looking for input on the 692. My wife and I fish Lk Michigan alot with our 170 Starcraft and would like to add a bit more length/storage. It's great boat but I'm always looking to upgrade.

Sure wish I had a boat to sell.<grin> I sense a feeding frenzy breaking out among the Camp Chickenbuck clan members.

I imagine you have a couple weeks to thrash this out before open water arrives.

Did I mention that I was fishing last week in the mighty Susquehanna, catching 2-3 lb smallies on punkinseed tubes?

I'll tell ya, I hardly can find more than 4-6 weeks between late muzzleloader deer and early spring bassin' to fit in a trip to the grass flats of Tampa Bay FL for trout/snook/redfish/etc.

October is especially tough with the decisions between the bow for whitetails and the rod for fall bass/stripers/etc.

Tough life, eh?

Dave, I checked the mail today...there wasn't a check in there from you. grin

outdoorguy,

692 is a very nice boat for lk MI, and one of the reasons we bought it. Haven't been there once though since I did get it. I sent you a PM.

Raystown,

bass are just for guys that can't catch walleyes. grin I like catching those smallies though. We have decent Largemouth bass fishing here, they just don't get very big.

Smallies are a religion down here. Susquehanna River has a sterling reputation for the "brown bass". Nice walleyes, muskies, even a few northerns in there also. Plus crappie, rock bass, some yellow perch, channel cats and HUGE carp.

Smallies, green bass, crappie, perch, carp, catfish, it's all fishing and it's all good!

I agree, they are all fun to catch. I like a good tangle with a big 'ol cat too. We have quite a few of those here. Some get pretty big. Most are in the 15"-20" range. they put up a nice fight for a while any way.

We have a pretty good selection when fishing down here but striped bass seem to be as popular as largemouths.
The catfish do get to a good size.I haven't been catfishing in several years.I remember the last one I caught. He wasn't too big so I got two other guys to help me roll him back in the water.

The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

45/70,it's almost a religion.

If you have to take a second shot then you probably shouldn't have taken the first shot.

Just foolin Tom, grin

Let me know if you don't work out a deal there though. I've been burried in work lately so not much time allowed for the fun stuff like buying boats. grin

we got a bunch of wet heavy snow early this morning. About 5 inches, slow going on the way to work this morning.

SNOW!!! That would about drive me up a wall at this point. I should have never brought that boat out of storage. I look at it and wish the ice away...hasn't been working though.

We got a heck of a rain last night, but no white stuff. Pretty nice out already this morning. How's that bid 350 in da snow?

Wasn't too big...had to roll back in the water...grin Sounds pretty big to me Stan. smile

We don't get anything like that, at least I don't. Most of the cats we get are while fishing for other fish. Believe it or not, we even get them on cranks. Quite a bit too. My Arkansas buddy didn't believe me, we were bass fishing and he caught two of them on Shad Raps. He thought it was great.
