About sunset, rainbow 26 1/4 inches long, 14 3/4" girth. Size 12 brown nymph with a red butt tuft, six weight rod, 4 lb. tippet. Great fight, long runs. Almost no fish rising and this one gently sipped the fly. I'm staying in a friend's condo, only a bathroom scale and it says 8 lbs one time, nine the next, heavier than I would have guessed. I've seen much bigger rainbows caught but this is my best on any gear. Nice evening. Travel tomorrow and will be out of touch for a week or so. later: just remembered an 8 1/2 lb rainbow I caught on a hand line through the ice. This one looks bigger, especially girth.
