Try working up some loads with IMR4831. This has given me great accuracy with Nosler 140gr. BT. The BT and Accubond have similar BC. I load 56.0 gr. of IMR4831 for my 26" PacNor bbl. 280AI. Get yourself a Nosler #5 loading manual. Start your loads for 280AI at mid level and work up slowly for safety and look for signs of pressure. Good luck!

63.5 gr VVN165, CCI BR2 primer, Nosler 140 AB, average of 5-3 shot groups is .5" in mine, overall is 3.712 measured with a sinclair bullet comparator, got this load from another shooter on this forum, seems to be one of those loads that works well in most 280AI's

Enough H4831 S/C to get you to 3150 fps. In my rifle RL22 is faster but the accuracy isn't as fine.
COL? 5 thou off the leade.

Sounds like a great load but damn 3.7" OAL? Is there any bullet left in the case?
You need to call it. I can't call it for you.

I`m sure that is inclusive of the comparator.
That N165 load is a dandy, shot it for years, it works.

the length listed in my load is the length of the comparator included, I've never taken the time to measure the COL with out the comparator

Same load and results with IMR 4831 except I use WLR's and I have a Lothar Walter 24" tube. The thing is so accurate, it is almost boring. I shipped a fired case to Hornandy and had them modify it to find the distance to the lands.

Nice!! Hawk Driver, those modified cases come in real handy I have them for all my rifles. My 280AI seems to like the 140acu. backed off the lands .020 The 140ttsx barnes shoot best at .040 but I am still playing with that.
Good shooting and be safe

Mulepacker, Just going thru the load book, mine runs .020 off the lands as well, must be some magic there.

VV N-165, Fed gold medal match LR primer, 140NAB seated .010 off the lands(ymmv there as every rifle is unique). load got me 3206fps with 5 shot groups running in the .3s. Barrel length was 24 3/4. I was using WW 270 brass necked up and fireformed. Tim_in_TN deserves the credit for this kick a** combination as it is HIS recipe. And it WORKS.

64.0 gr RL 22, .001" off the lands. I've shot several groups in the 1's and 2' with said combo, but I really credit the barrel more than the load as my barrel will pretty much shoot just about anything well under half MOA.
Why is it called a double u, should'nt it be called a double v?
