Well, it's the 4th already in the East, Picnics, parades, partys, fireworks, and FOOD. Here in the South it's chicken, Bar-B-Que, hambergers, hot-dogs, potato salad. What do you have in your part of the country. -- no

Pig, Yeah man, whole hog, split down the middle and the ribs busted so it will lay flat on the pit. All night slow cooking over hard wood coals. Turn him over about daylight. Probably only you and me remember how to make that old time vinegar base mop.
I wish you was home. Sorry you got to be half way around the world but thanks for doing your duty.
BCR

Pig, -- you make me tear up, wish you could be home with us but it's guys like you that make it possible for days like this. My trash man just came by and I tipped him so he could stop somewhere and have dinner. Our younger generation just don't realize what we have. You see it first hand, that's why I wish all kids had to pull a two year hitch fresh out of high school, to grow up so to speak. Wish you could make a post and tell us just what it's like where you are. -- no

Happy 4th everybody. We're havin' brisket, potato salad, pinto beans, ice tea, brownies, and coffee. Po' folks food. It's what we eat in South Texas. Thanks, Pig..keepin' my country safe is a full-time job and I appreciate it. I got to spend three July 4ths and two Christmases in a lovely triple canopy rain forest, with exotic people, who didn't like me. Hope you get back in the world soon. Popeye

Well, just finished lunch, no potato salad, just me and Sherry at home now, kids grown. We switched places today, she charcoaled beef tenderloin steaks and I French fried the potatoes. Steaks would melt in your mouth type and the thick cut fries were just right. Wish everyone eats this well today and turn thanks for our blessings and the ones that made this day possible. -- no

Hey I'm a day late but it took me this long to roll my over stuffed carcus off the beach and up the hill to this here confuser.
I baked four king salmon in a pit, steamed 50 pounds of steamer clams had a friend prepair a huge plate of sushi, mega bowl of shrimp coleslaw, chicken and bar-b-que ribs for the wimps. Really bad chicken from KFC for the city folk and gallons of liquids, Jet ski's for the youngsters. Typical 4th.
Bullwnkl.

Bullwnkl, -- My Air Force buddy was in Reedsport and said he bought a dozen of the smallest orsters they had and they were larger than the largest they have in Florida. He said the large there were 4"X10", they left that area last Tuesday, guess they are somewhere in Washington now. Don't know if they will make connections with Okanagan,(Len), or not. He is in and out of the country this summer, miss him on the board. We are having son out for supper tonight, those good steaks and a tub full of French fries, I have been on a diet the last week and I dream food. Everything sounds good and your 4th dinner was KING food. -- no
