I had to pull about 50 rounds of loaded 308 ammo as I didn't size the once fired LC match brass short enough to fit in my montana. So I pulled bullets, dumped the power, removed depriming pin, and set the shoulder back a couple a few more thousanths with live primers in them. I used the Hornady spray lube at about a 45 degree angle towards the loading block filled with primed brass. I'm wondering if I've ruined the primers or what??? Any body have any experience with this.

Not supposed to. I have never had a problem with it, and I have done the same thing as you. Easy way to find out would be spray one down real good and load the primed brass into the chamber and fire it off.

You'll find that it's pretty difficult to affect modern primers with much of anything short of soaking in lacquer thinner, or similar, for long periods of time. It's not likely you affected them in any way.

If you search for primer testing on google, you'll find a very informative piece about what it really takes to kill a primer. To sum it up, it takes a lot, and water is the best choice.

I did a very similar thing this past weekend. Decapped, tumbled, and FL resized 100 LC Match 308 cases. Primed them with Fed 210 match then so cleverly thought to check operation through my new to me Montana. None would chamber, who woodda thunck. Because I didn't want to risk contaminating such hard to find primers, I resorted to the old RCBS case lube and pad. I turned the die down 1/8 turn per case until I got the correct amount of sizing and resized the whole 100.
It worked well without the worry of dud primers, I hope!!

I ended up doing something similar. Most I sprayed with the spray lube but then I broke out the greasy lyman pad and lube that I haven't used in 2 years.

Imagine your grave on a windy winter night. You've been dead for 70 years. It's been 50 since a visitor last paused at your tombstone..... Now explain why you're in a pissy mood today.
