Got a barrel here in town,.......

Full Octagon, no taper or swamp, 1.095" across the flats, X 35"
about 50 cal ( no slugged dims, yet)

Wears a fixed elevation buckhorn, and a German silver blade front sight, underlugged for traditional flat wedges.

Looks to be a round ball ( slower) twist, but I haven't checked the Twist rate (yet)

It's marked J. Caswell.

Exterior's showing age and hard use, bore looks pretty good.

Looks like with a bit of judicious lapping it would shoot.

Anyone know anything about Mr. Caswell ?
