I would like to know the name of the person who belongs to this stock. So would the real mcSwirly owner step forward and claim your prize. Really I like this swirly better than any other I have seen to date. I would like one made up 50% white -50% Tennessee orange. Rick is working on that prospect now.. I would like comments and advice on my upcoming project.#1- Remington 700 LA w/ canjar trigger set to 12ozs. in line now at Pac-Nor for: New barrel(contour to be determined, probably #4or #5 fluted), SS match or whatever best grade is called, action trued by P-N, bolt fluted, McSwirly stock bedded by Rick, barrel length in 25 or 26". Scope waiting to be mounted Swarovski 6-18x50 w/ TDS reticle. To be combo sendero type antelope and prarie dog gun to back up my custom carbon 22-250 Rem 700. Please advise on stock pictured . Comments and suggestions needed onon project gun. Thanx, Doc Stone PS- Post any pics of Mc swirly guns and let's have a beauty contest. Big Stick's got a few.... What is the color %'s of the pictured stock??

Doc

I am the owner and had the stock made a few years ago. It is a Remington Classic with a short action 700. It is housing a #5 Shilen SM. It has the .6 inch Pachmayr Decelerator Old English pad. Now for the color, if I remember correctly, I told them 70% Black, 20% medium grey, and 10% white. I am pretty sure on this, but not certain. I can take other pics for you if you would like. You can PM me if you would like. I too like this stock. I should have probably got them all this color but variety is the spice of life. Some don't come out this good. My girl wants an Orange stock so I will be interested in a pic of yours when it is done. I recently posted a pic of her on the turkey thread showing her first Tom that she took last Sunday. We will be getting her ready for the White-tail season in the fall. Would sure like to find a Rem 700 left handed short action to build for her.

Don't know who the owner is but I really like that stock. I'm color blind but I would guess 50% black, 25% white, and 25% gray.

What's that pac-nor going to be chambered in?

LSU Fan, it will be a 25-06. As I have just completed a 25-06 AI.

Damn I was close on the color percentages. 708 fan's post wasn't there when I made that guess.

Voldoc02,

Curious why you're not going with the AI if you're already set up to load for and probably already have formed brass?

LSU, the 25-06AI was built for a very specific purpose, It has a #1 contour barrel and could not stand the heat for a repeated prarie dog session , also on a mauser 98 action w/ Brown precision stock. I will use this gun for open field long range whitetail hunting and also a carry gun for stand hunting in KY on my lease. It shoots 100 BT's @ 3600fps well under 3/4 MOA.. done deal.. The 25-06 will be long range varmit ,possible antelope (WY) gun and I do not want to have to fireform 200-300 cases and also have option of factory in a pinch.. Just my screwed up rationale. Doc Stone PS what's your opinion of a fluted #5 contour for the 25-06//?? 26 "

HotRod< Sure got some good (wild) tastes in stock color combos like me. Excuse my ignorance but are these blanks for bench guns that are yet to be finished or what. Looks like that orange one is not the right color of orange for Tennessee orange,(looks too red). Rick said McBoys only had one shade of orange , guess this is it. Enlighten, thanx, Doc

The purple/white flame,is a scheme I've been contemplating for an A5. I think it is wickedly wonderful and matte black metal would make her sing.

Next blow out day,I'm taking THAT plunge..................

they are colors that shehane keeps in stock. i 've been lusting after the purple/white flame for some time and think it'll be perfect for the new 6-250 rem i'm going to do.

Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.

I think I've forgotten this before.

voldoc02, yes these are all benchrest uninletted stocks kept in stock at Shehane as rbunt227 stated, I just asked for a larger picture of the one on there website for reference. I like those flame swirls in certain colors, just to many projects going on now to get more started.

A dark blue or dark purple with medium gray flame would likely be my first thoughts in colors. Even two different shades of OD would look great.

Outrageous!

I hate to think of the camo pattern you'd wear carrying one
of those stocks in the woods!

shorts and a tee shirt, strictly for creating a fine red mist over the prarrie dog fields, there is nothing subtle about shooting up a dog town!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

depending on where at in hartsville i think cookeville is about an hour away. i live about 20 minutes from hartsville. it is really pretty country and a lot of farm land left in that area. you can hunt at the hartsville nuclear plant i think and there are a bunch of deer running around in there. anyway good luck with the move and see you in september.......blake
