And yet, you will be unable to factually dis-prove anything in my statement below. Much less do so politely.

That's gotta sting. Grin.

They are very very similar, they do the same thing practically speaking. Flip a damn coin, go hunting. Getting the time off, and $$, and tags, and hunting partners all together is the hard part, not deciding between two nearly identical cartridges.

Either one benefits greatly, by being necked up to .35 and headstamped .358! :-) My .358 was a 7-08 for a half-dozen deer, and has killed a half dozen as a .358. The .358 is mo' betta'.

For anything bigger than deer, I'll use a bigger rifle than a 7-08 or a .308 anyway. Why? Because I can and it makes me happy.

Nah...

I think he's kind of amusing. I'm sure his goal is to stir things up as much as he can, and get banned again to "further the legend".

Yawn.

I'll respect the man when he shows some ability to carry on a reasonable debate. Not expecting that to happen. So far, he reminds me of nothing more than the kids my wife works with, except at least with them, there's SOME hope.

She works in Special Ed....

OK, but where is we gonna get all our gay porn and copious supply of rifles adorned with pirate stickers? LittlePrick provides well in that regard.

The little Giftzwerg has got to have some redeeming quality...and I for one am looking hard to find it...

I have two Browning Micro's with the 20" barrels. One is .308 and one is 7-08. I get a bit more muzzle jump and blast with the .308 but neither is bad. For some reason I seem to use the 7-08 more than the .308.

I like the fact that factory ammo is cheaper and easier to get for the .308 but I prefer the 7-08 to hunt deer with.

Jeff [bleep],

(1) How are you steering your 7-08's and 308's to LR distances?

(2) Impact velocity, drift, drop and energy are all very much in the 7-08's favor, despite your inability to realize the obvious.

(3) The 7-08 will recoil less, while doing the above and every time.

(4) The 358 can't even hang with the 308,let alone the 7-08.

I am not suprised to learn, that due to your reading AirSoft Weekly you THINK you've a clue...but alas, that ain'thow the ball bounces,if only obviously.

Dumb Dan,

I reckon you do grow tired of having bullshitt called with 100% accuracy to your detriment.

Again, only you are responsible for the stupidity espoused via YOUR keyboard.

When are you going to hold your breath and stamp your feet?

'gman,

Didn't mean to horn you up,but admittedly I'm an exceptional specimen and it'd be hard to fault your taste.

Good call to be devoid anything germane to either chambering the Title, despite it being the only move you've got.

You're demonstrating evidence of being able to recognize the wisdom of others, but apparently your OCD still keeps you from being able to follow their lead (thus 20 more pages of your blather on an insignificant topic).

I'm not sure, but I seem to recall that Paxil can help with that.

TryMe,

I see. You are Ballistic Minutia Guy.

What you are saying is akin to saying that a Yamaha dirt bike jetted for racing fuel, is better than a Kawasaki dirt bike running regular fuel- FOR HIGHWAY CRUISING!

In other words, you are choosing an obscure bullet that nobody wants to use, and postulating a use (extreme long range hunting) that nobody uses a 7mm-08 for... and THAT'S your point?

Wow. Guess you win. Pat yourself on your hairy little back.

But just to return to reality a bit, here's what the original poster said:

So for practical hunting purposes, and certainly for what the OP is talking about, what I said below is "As True as it Gets". And you know what's extra funny? You KNOW IT. wink

JeffDilldO,

You repeating your stupidity, only reiterates how far you are off on all marks and that repeat isn't needed.

You've yet to even feign a first clue about anything.

If secondfiddle is a keen interest of your's,the 308 is your huckleberry. If thirdfiddle horns you up even more, then the 358 steals the show.

Can't add anything that has not been said. I own 2 Remington Model Sevens (260 Rem and 308 Win) and they are great rifles. The 7mm-08 splits the difference and will get anything up to elk (within reasonable range).

If it makes you happy to have demonstrated that for the .00001% of hunters using a 7mm-08 as an extreme long-range hunting rig, it has a paper advantage over the .308, then enjoy your warm fuzzies. 20 pages of spewage, you've earned it I guess.
