That's the funniest thing I've seen on this thread. Thought this was kinda amusing too.

This has been an entertaining thread. It amazes me how people get so entrenched in miunutia. I thought I was bad.

I find the argument silly - hell everyone knows the 7 SAUMie is way mo' better than either of the 08's wink

I think all the sense was made early on.

Little, if any, difference in 99.9% of hunting applications.

Disclaimer: 85.432% of all statistics are made-up on the spot! grin

I admit that I have learned a little more about the ballistic "superiority" of the 7mm projectiles, but I have loved a few 7s without said revelations.

I still love my .308 Win. and would recommend it over the 7mm-08 for the novice looking to buy their first big game rifle or first SA rifle. I talk to so many guys that are in their 30s-40s that are wanting to leave their LA and Magnum rifles in the closet for something a little more pleasant to shoot. Both the 7mm-08 and the .308 fit that bill well. However, most of these guys simply don't reload (I don't judge them negatively for that decision.) and are going to be restricted to factory loaded fodder. The .308 shines aeons beyond the 7mm-08 in that regard.

Steelhead, are you of a mind that there IS a practical difference in the field between the two rounds in question, or that there isn't?

Just curious.

Jeff, with all due respect (you seem to be a nice guy), this makes you look as if you're a glutton for punishment.

Answer the question honestly, Steelhead. Practical diiference 'tween the two, or not?

Steelhead, your silence is deafening... could it be we agree that there's no practical difference?

Do tell...

Don't think JO is a retard. He knows what he is doing and enjoys it. He is just throwing out bait. The guy loves this [bleep]. Everyday his so many minutes of fame. The fire is his pulpit and he gets to play the victim over and over.

No victim here.

So... Steelhead agrees with me, and disagrees with Big Stick but is skeered to admit it.

Classic. You can't make this stuff up.
