We are losing in the CNN poll having to do with keeping the assault weapons ban that is scheduled to end shortly, by a "W I D E M A R G I N." Please make your choice known ASAP.
URGENT!!!!
To all our Second-Amendment-supporting friends:
We really need help on this poll; so far we are losing almost 3 to 1. I think everyone is aware how much mileage the folks at CNN are going to try and get out of this if in fact the results show the "majority" of people want the Assault Weapons Ban extended.
(This bad law is set to expire otherwise on Sept. 13.)
Please take a minute to go to the site by clicking the link below and cast your vote to LIFT the ban on so-called "assault weapons." This ban has done nothing but incrementally restrict the rights of LAW-ABIDING citizens. It is NOT about "assault weapons," (which cannot even be defined by the law). It is about the gradual elimination of the SECOND amendment in our Constitution.

I voted but this is going to be an impossible battle because almost all non gunowners and even some gun owners that aren't enthusiast see "Machine Gun" when they hear "Assault Rifle".

I keep telling people that a qualified shooter with a bolt action rifle could do more damage that a loony with an "assault rifle". Also, the DC cowards (I refuse to call them snipers) used a Bushmaster .223 which the new media called a "large caliber assault rifle" which again doesn't help the gun's image when it wasn't even used in semi auto mode and the 22 caliber is relatively dinky when campared to most other centerfire rounds. In fact a typical deer rifle like the Model 700 in 7mm-08 would have killed everyone, at least with the 223 a couple of people surived.

The image people get in their head when they hear "assault rifle" are the 2 shooters in California with full body armor from a few years ago. They don't realize that the full auto guns these guys had would still be banned even if the assault rifle ban was lifted...... and even if they are still banned, those types of people will have them anyway. It's the good guys that this impacts, not the bad guys.
