Recently bought a box of 160 grainers to load for my Win. 64 as well as some 350s to use in my Marlin 1895. How have they worked out on paper and game for those that have used them ??? TIA, 284

I don't reload but the factory loads have done a great job for me. I have not had a chance to kill a deer yet but I dropped a 200# hog dead in his tracks with the 30-30 round, 5 minutes later I killed a 100#er that ran about 25'. I don't plan on hunting with anything else.

i shot huge bison with 45-70, the load needs a little more weight. 4 shots , all brodside, none went all thev way through. 2 deer with the 3030 , droped right there. no recovered bul. really like the 3030 load. very good shooter in my savage 99. 24 inch br. gets the most out of the load. d o m i t !

Shot a small button buck from about 30 yrds. and a huge doe from about 175 yrds. Both with a H&R Ultra .45-70. Small buck was dead right there and the doe ran in a 10 foot circle and dropped. I have never been disappointed in any Hornady ammo!

I have killed several deer with the 30-30 LR they kill quick and easy if you do your part. I have cleaned several of these deer and the damage is awesome the first doe a shot had one lung blown into three pieces. I shot an Eight point at 100 yards and a quarter too angle inthe front shoulder and stopped at the back rib under the hide. I didn't cut the bullet out but could feel it and it felt like a perfect mushroom. I still kick myself for not getting the bullet, only one that didn't exit.
Whatever a 7x57 can do a 270 can do better.
True fair chase is you in the woods buttnaked with nothing but your finger nails and teeth.
If you'e fixin' to put a hole in something, make it a hole to remember.
