Cross

That photo was taken long before I knew what a camera was. It came from a 1960s magazine article. I stole it!

C Sharps does make or did make a psuedo copy of the 1875 Sharps which is in the picture. I believe Sharps of lod only made 1 or 2 of them for an exhibition. Sellers talks about it in his book.

Better Target Rifle than a '74

......LONGER barrel shank, longer than some "Modern" bolt guns.

Available with a single set trigger now, though I've liked the original single stage ones just fine.

I think the rig pictured may be the "Mystery Rifle" that no-one knows WHO has,........

Bet John Schofstall knows.

William S Peace collection as of late 1970's. I think Peace was from Texas and died in a car accident in 2004.

Looks like a borchardt with a hammer LRF I like yours better. Now if were talking sharps the borchardt was way ahead of its time the hammer less design made the lock time sooooo fast.

What you have done is not nearly as important as how you have done it!!!

Yeah, the Borchardt was so ahead of its time that nobody bought them and the company went under!

It seems they did just fine when sticking with the '74 model?

Of course it may have really been that the introduction of the 1876 Winchester spelled the end for many big single shots in the minds of many buyers...

More than likely it was the near total disappearance of the buffler herds that caused such a steep drop off of sales of what were superb heavy game rifles that the company lost its ass and went under.
