Can anyone buy them anywhere? They have gone from scarce to non-existent here in Southeast Wyoming and Northern Colorado (if anyone knows I wrong, let me know where!). Is it the same all over the country?
All mail-order companies I've tried have them on backorder.
I have to travel to Houston on business in a couple of weeks. If I can find any there I guess I could mail them back home. Do any of you Texans know if it's any use looking?

Hi Everyone! I live near Houston and have found some primers at least once a week at Carter's Country on Treshwig Rd on the North Side. They have been limiting you to 300....

How sweet, and that's on my way from Intercontinental Airport. I bought my first gun at that store in 1978. Thanks for the tip.

300 limit! That is great! Here in San Antonio the only place I have found limits everyone to 200 with purchase of another product such as bullets, powder, etc. Only way they can keep them in stock, otherwise the hoarders would keep the shelves bare for everyone!

Would like to see more venders doing the same thing with all the reloading stuff.

I have noticed here in the last two weeks that most gun stores are devoid of rifle and pistol primers (large and small). Most seem to have plenty of shotshell primers. It has been spotty over the past 4-5 months, but lately simply non-existant. I don't shoot competition so my primer needs are average, but I have a couple of friends who shoot SASS 3 weekends per month, using about 1000 LP primers every 2-3 months. They have a problem now (and with lead bullets in quantity too) and are cutting back to one weekend SASS shoot per month.

Spoke with a company yesterday that said their making them as fast as they can but demand has gone through the roof. People who use to buy 1000 primers every month to every other month are putting in orders for 10,000 a month.
So having a store limit your purchases is not a bad thing. "Greed, its the American way"

I live near Houston and have found some primers at least once a week at Carter's Country on Treshwig Rd on the North Side. They have been limiting you to 300.... I bought 500 there just yesterday, but all they had were various pistol and shotgun primers. No one on the sales staff mentioned anything about limiting primer sales. I bought what I needed for the next month or so, not a 'stockpile'. .

Went to the Reno gun show, most of the primers were already bought however found one box (100) of Cci large rifle mag primers, paid four bucks for it. Just before leaving the show found a fellow who had two bricks of remington large pistol primers, he had a limit of 200 per customer, picked up two boxes for eigth bucks. One follow was selling some old CCi large rifle primers, they were in a green and white box, he was asking twelve bucks per 100!!!, I don't think he sold them.

For any of the eastern NC guys, I scored twice on primers yesterday. I found 2000 Federal 155 at Four Seasons in Goldsboro and bought 1000 (for my shooting pardner) and then later found a shipment of WIN WLP in stock at Guns Unlimited in Ayden. He is selling a 500 limit (got those for my shooting buddy as well). He was sure happy when I called him about finding some. And $4.00 per 100 seems to be the new average - the FED 155 were $3.79 per 100 and the WIN WLP were $4.29 per 100.

Did you ask them about LR or LRM's? They don't put them on the shelves, you have to ask, when they do have them they keep them in the back....

I bought 600 Federal 210's yesterday, left 1,800 sitting on the shelf. They had a few cans of powder, an assortment of bullets, lots of factory ammo in all the popular calibers, and a few 1,000 count boxes of primers. Said they'd get more Friday or Monday. Must be regional...

I wouldn't even drive over to a shop with a 200/300 primer limit what the hell. That won't even cover a weekend in pistol sizes. Maybe last a long time in magnum rifle tho.
I'm wondering if some of your gun shops you buy from. Our local hole in the wall gun shop has had some of each type of primer every time I've walked in during the last month. Some more than others. The only restriction he has is selling to people in person who walk in and I believe he limits to a 1,000 if you come from way out of town only to buy primers. People have come from Houston (2-1/2 hours away) and he wants to sell to people who come in frequently first because it's also a gun range so he makes money coming and going on it so to speak.
Of course he says he stays on the phone with distributors ALL DAY and I can believe it because I hear him all the time while sitting inside waiting on my barrel to cool. He is on the phone all the time and he says it pays off. He says he would never get primers/poweder/bullets if he only called in an order and left it at that. He says he calls every morning and every afternoon and sometimes stuff just comes in and he gets it because they don't know what/when is coming in either.
