Here's Joel's bear. The photo's aren't very big, but it's what he sent me. Big enough to see the bear though.

Nice bear, Joel. I'm glad you bagged one after you were unsuccessful up there last year. How many bears did you see this year? Congrats on the hunt.

Brian, yeah tam is gonna be busy. we dont have room for another lifesize but hey when its free, why not.
stalker, we didnt see any other bear. for 2 weeks our station never got hit, when we cleaned it up, not even a track on the hill. first time in 14 years that has happened. usually on the trail we find tracks, scat etc. not this year. now closer to tanana river we found some monster griz tracks but couldnt find the bear. The back print was about an inch smaller than my boot length (size 12 boot), I wouldnt have minded getting him in my sights.
We played hell getting that bear out. it took all 5 of us ( the pic taker was the gear bearer) and about 45minutes to get the bear to the bottom of the hill (about 100yards) so we could load it up in the meat wagon. those dead falls were thick.

As a suggestion on taking outdoor pictures -- and I'm no professional photographer -- even when you and your downed animal are in the sunlight, USE YOUR FLASH!!
Caps and hats cast shadows, trees and brush and other obstacles do also, making it almost impossible to see the hunters' faces. Animals' heads are difficult to see, also. A flash will fill in most of those shadows and make the picture much more interesting both to the "people at home," and the person(s) who killed the animal.
Professional photographers have their own methods, but I learned long ago, USE THE FLASH, no matter that the sun is out, and it appears the hunter and animal are in the sunlight.
