Hello,


Recently I bought a Rem. 700 SPS Youth chambered in .30-06 at the Sydney Cabelas. I bought the rifle for my wife so that she may have a better suited gun for elk hunting here in CO.

The question I have, and from what I can find thus far, would a Rem. CDL take off stock fit this rifle? IF so, where might a guy find one for a reasonable price? I'd potentially like to spruce the rifle up in the future for my wife. She liked the synthetic stock, but had her eye on a woodstocked rifle before I surprised her with this one.

I paid $325 for it new from Cabelas so I figure I have a little lead way in spending some money on setting her up properly.

Thanks Stumpy. I don't venture over there too much. I'll take a look. Did an internet search and found a few places. Most wanted more for a takeoff stock than I paid for the rifle. $380 being average.

If its the one from VAhuntr, then I've contacted him about it and am in the process of putting my funds together.

Now I need to see if there is any market for a Hogue Overmolded stock that fits the Howa/Vanguards. Got one that is brand new that is Olive in color.

GPC has new 700 LA Classics for $105, their stock # 1138010.

Sportsmansguide has new 700 LA/SA CDLs for $100, their stock # WX2-126231.

I bought 3 of the 700 LA Classics to replace 700 SPS Youth synthetic stocks and like them. They come drilled for QD studs, but the studs aren't installed, so you'll need to buy a set from Uncle Mike.
