Finally got to shoot the Monster. For what it was designed to do its a very good bow. The draw cycle is like the Reezen 6.5 with a little break over at the end, but when it goes off its very smooth. Im a little concerned about the brace height on it, (it will take consisnant form to shoot it). The 5" brace height version is out of the question. Im thinking about ordering a all back one with 80lb limbs which will get me out eay to 30yards for my first pin. I dont know for now im gonna shoot my Drenalin and think it over a couple days. But if theres anyone looking for a speed bow, the Monster is going to be VERY difficult to beat.

An 80# Monster, wow. If you can handle it, that should be one powerful machine. I'd need to order shoulder surgery to go with it. BTW: If raw speed is all your looking for then PSE already has a faster bow.

I'd like to be able to take one and shoot it a few days. I've shot the PSE's and like them pretty well. Course that only at a 17 yard range at the archery shop. I just wonder how critical these new speed bows are. I should say how critical they are with me shooting them. I'm shure many guys can do great with them.
For now I'm shooting a slow and steady Drenalin, but we get by -grin-.

I should be able to handle it I shot my AR velocity at 78lbs no problem. Im a pretty good size guy.
Center- PSE does now have the advertised fastest bow out NOW. However you are comparing apples to oranges. The regular X Force is slower than the Monster. However for all out speed the Monster XLR8 (which still isnt out is suppose to be pushing 375fps. However the XLR8 got only 5" brace height vs 5.5" on the PSE. Matthews is still tweaking the XLR8 will only have to wait to see who wins. Mcpherson is a very competitive guy so im willing to put money on it that the XLR8 will be faster.

It is fun to watch them out do each other in the monthly bowhunting mags. It's good to push the envelope, just to see what can be done. For me, neither will get my money. I'll take a slowish 305-310 bow that smooth and easy to shoot over the rocket launchers any day. That is currently a 60# Hoyt Ultratec for me.
