Reading all these posts about the big .500 Jeffery has given me an idea, I need one too!
What would be the least expensive way to get into the Jeffery, without sacrficing reliability?
I plan to run the gun through the gauntlet, trying different bullet weights, testing it's effectiveness in the field, etc.

Buy a CZ in that caliber is the least expensive route...
If you insist on building one the use a modified Enfield action..

If you insist on building one the use a modified Enfield action.. OK, the CZ looks like it will be my choice. Will I need to have the action tuned to get the Jeffery to feed reliably? If so I will probably have it sent to AHR before I even fire a round through it. They did a wonderful job on a CZ .416 Rigby that I have.

Probably, but I always try them for awhile before I spend the bucks on a tune up or go to the trouble to work on one, being of the school if it ain't broke, don't fix it..
I would however be sure the trigger broke clean and fully glass bed it tight from one end to the other. Glass in the cross bolts. Some piller bed them also, but I seldom bother.
