I always had (4) in my strip...typically incorprating a PTO via aircraft landing gear boxes,as opposed to hand pumpin'.

I/we signed Contracts denoting same and were paid in accordance. $500 trees were typical. We rewrote the books.(grin)

You truly take "Small Man's Complex" to another level. Napolean's got nothing over you. Except maybe 6 inches of height.
It's good to know I can buy my 6 year old nephew Carhartt's that will fit him. I'm guessing TOYS R US in the "Bob the Builder" section???

Nice saws. Love my Huskies.

But, you are avoiding the question at hand. There is one reason, and one reason only, that you would refuse to post your load: because if you do, several of us will try it, and it ain't gonna do what you say it does. Or, it's going to be one of those ridiculous loads- way over max, crazy long, NOT a representative load in other words.

Post it, and prove me wrong.

I have a 30-06 that will run 150's at 3100 fps, but I ain't gonna base a whole bullshit Theory of Cartridge Supremacy, on the performance of my (1) rifle.

My gut says, you do have a 7mm-08 that has hit that speed with a 162 Amax. But you know damn well most won't, not even close. And you are hoping like hell that somehow, someone, some way, is going to save you from this.

But, 'taint gonna happen bro.

Post your load.

40 gr of R15 gets me to 2660 avg. That's .1 gr over max. I can safely reach 2700 with nary a doubt.

No doubt on that. Seeing guys thread the needle with gigantic trees is something to see.

So, TryMe has been dinged 100 fps for failure to post his load. if you are gonna pull the kind of crap he is pulling, you need to back it up... he hasn't, so I am backing off his claim of 2700 fps to something more attainable through normal means, in a normal factory rifle, with a normal-length barrel. DING!

Just lookee here, folks and folkettes. First, a 162 Amax at a more realistic (pending TryMe posting his load) 2600 fps:

[Linked Image]

Next, a 208 Amax at 2580 fps, which is a load MontanaMarine posted from a 20.5" barrel no less:

Notice, dear readers, that at 600 yards the .308 TROUNCES the 7-08 in every way except that the 7-08 drops a whopping .58" less.

That's 1/2 inch, for practical purposes. The .308 is drifting less in the wind, holding more speed, retaining more energy.

The .308 is a better round, EVEN using TryMe's wacko vision of either as a long-range hunting cartridge.

TryMe, you been beat. You want redemption? POST YOUR LOAD.

POST YOUR LOAD.

Yep. I can put them where I want them, plus or minus, but when I needed a big fir dropped right between my wellhouse and my gate, I hired a pro.

I have a lot of respect for loggers in general- all the different jobs involved. They are all dangerous as hell, and those guys work HARD. At least around here. You wouldn't even want to hike the terrain they are dropping trees on. I have to hike the clearcut my long range steel plates are hung in, to repair them and so on, and it's a b!tch.

None of which has anything to do with TryMe refusing to post the particulars of his load, of course.

Jeff, your ass is showing. Let it go.

Democracy is not freedom. Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to eat for lunch. Freedom comes from the recognition of certain rights which may not be taken, not even by a 99% vote.
