seeing as how i have 2 bonus points this year i am sure i will be drawing a tag for deer in western Kansas and am curious if anyone has some suggestions for Outfitters and/or hunting leases/properties where i might have a shot at a large whitetail during archery season. i would prefer hunting from a stand and own two climbers if i need em.

Jeff, I would suggest getting a "Walk in hunting area atlas" and if you can't get a lease check these areas out. I moved to S.E Kansas two years ago and have hunted on several different areas around here and have been stunned at how little pressure they saw. Deer were plentiful. RustyL

Don't expect to use a climbing stand much in Kansas.

Is it true you can put in for one unit and still hunt the adjoining unit as well?

found out today i drew the tag for unit 2 in Kansas. figures. i drew a Nevada Desert Bighorn Sheep tag and a New Mexico Archery any Elk tag in unit 17. guess i'm gonna have to pass on the Kansas tag cause i can't afford any more hunting this year or any more time off. when it rains it pours. it sure grieves me to give up a tag, especially one in the middle of the rut. maybe someone out there can sponsor me and shoot a video of the hunt for their TV show or better yet film all of my hunts and cover my expenses. just dreaming!

Yep I would pass on the KS whitetail also. You drew 2 awesome tags, that you won't draw every year(or ever again). With the current system in KS you will draw another one next year. Good luck on the elk and bighorn.
