Would any of the gunsmith's here know anything about these? I rescued my dad's from his crawl space where he had stored it. He put it away after something went wrong with the bolt/firing pin. When you open the bolt it cocks on opening. However, when you go to close the bolt it fires. I'd really like to see about getting this thing fixed as it has a little sentimental value to me being as my grandfather bought it for my dad as his first gun. The rifle has some rust on the exterior and down the barrel. How hard is that to deal with? Thanks for any help.

The barrel rust may clean up well enough to use, or may require a liner. The failure to remain cocked is likely due to a worn surface between the sear and it's mating surface. Parts are maybe available at Numrich gunparts.
