Is it just me, or are the skeeters bad for this time of the year? The little nasty bastards are already out in abundance 'round my house. I didn't see many of the big slow skeeters this spring. pak

Well... Yesterday I saw one carrying off my neighbor. I was sorry to see a skeeter get such a lousy catch.
P.S. The neighbors last word were "at least the black flys' arn't bad".

Pete,

They are definately out earlier this year. The big ones were out late April, early May. Now the littler, faster, hard to grab in your hands ones are out.

I think our slightly heavier snowfall has made for ideal habitat for the buggers. One of these days I'll remember to find my bug dope.

willow is full of them, about like the gulkana area last year, I dont want to know what they will be like this year.. I have never seen them so thick around here. I could have sworn I felt my feet come of the ground the other day.

For now, just the big ones around Fairbanks, but lots of them! I have a Mosquito Magnet in the backyard, and so far has gotten 3 bags full to the top in three weeks. The little ones will probably be nasty this year. It has also been raining around here for weeks now, and that has helped them quite a lot.

The money I spent on a Mosquito Magnet has been the best investment I've made in a long time! I've been emtying the cup about every 3 to 4 days and it's filled to the top! It doesn't get them all, but I certainly can see a difference at my place. I like it so much I'm considering getting another one to place elsewhere on my property.
