Iam generally a Leupold scope fan, but i traded a guy some storage space for a cheaper simmons scope. I noticed that when I look through it for a long period of time, it starts to look like I'm looking underwater. Is there such a way to change eye relief or focus on a scope like this or is it just a scope thats only good enough to lay on the bench?

Does it have parallax adjustment? Other than that try focusing your eye piece or stick with Leupolds.

Throw it away. It is junk.

Simmons has made really good scopes and some really bad scopes, so you might have traded for 1 on the really bad scopes.

I've been shooting a couple of old stock Philippines built Simmons Whitetail Classics in 3.5-10x40 that are as good, optically speaking, as any other <$200 scope that I've owned. I also have some 24+/- year old Simmons 1040 (2-7x) and 1053 (1.5-4.5x) that are still doing the job, despite being shot alot and being mounted on several different rifles. 1 of those 1040s has been mounted on the same Savage 24V 222/20 truck gun since 1990 and it has held up well, despite having spent most of the last 19 years in a case behind the seat of my trucks/Jeeps.
