I have known Phil for quite some time and your right, it would be a outstanding book, and some folks would cave in when he told of how many big bears he has shot with the 30-06 and 180 gr. Noslers!  and why he likes wood stocks as they can actually save your life! Phil is one of the most experienced gun writers out there, a Master Alakan Guide that lives on his hunting territory year around except when traveling in the states promoting his hunting business..He is also a fine and honorable individual.

I have been thinking along those lines and have sketched our a few chapters but have discovered that this writing stuff takes time away from actually doing neat things - and I'm not ready to quit that yet. Maybe when I get too old to do anything useful - or fun - I will become a real gunwriter and finish a book.

Please keep on doing interesting things, but persevere in writing comprehensive notes and taking lots of pictures. Then be sure to keep back-up copies of everything - EVERYTHING - in at least two different sites which are responsibly controlled by people you can trust. These materials are not only the basis for some retirement income, they could be the basis for de facto life insurance for your family. Meanwhile, live long and prosper!
