...and he also called last night to ask me if I "wouldn't mind" if he hunted my favorite turkey spot in the morning. WTHell?
I haven't got my bird yet, but I'm a heck of a nice guy and he just bought a new bass boat.
I told him where to park, where they roost, where to sit and what time they'd gobble.
"Ok", I said... you....

Anyway, I was a bit nervous this AM when I saw him calling so early and I assumed he'd be happy and upbeat.
To my surprise he told me he had just MISSED a nice gobbler at 8 YARDS!!LOL
He told me he just let it keep coming and got too confident and was "trying to save some meat??"
He held high and missed that bird's head!!

More for me!! LOL, but I don't think that Gobbler will be coming in again for awhile?
I had taken a week off and hadn't been hunting because of work and the birds weren't coming in.
Looks like they are ready NOW!
-whew-

Thanks for the advice. I was wondering about that...how good a turkey's memory may be?? He said this bird had a good 8" beard and probably 2 years old and... wiser after today.
My next scheduled days to hunt are Friday and Saturday mornings.
I was planning to start in the pines on the OTHER side of the farm where they also roost.

If you leave him alone until Friday, odds are in your favor. They may be in a different spot, but probably not too far from where your buddy missed him.

Start on the outside and work in, like scouting for deer.
