Nonsense. I cannot find this bill anywhere but on "Forums".

Post a link that works, and the text. Your link comes up blank when searching it for 2099.

Don't give Obumbo any ideas. He's stupid enough to push legislation like this.

There is a senate bill 2099. It's S-2099, not SB-2099 which doesn't exist. Here's an excerpt from Sen Mike Crapo's web site:

S. 2100 offers double-digit increases in educational benefits under the G.I. Bill to Guard members and reservists as a way of closing the gap in benefits that now exist between Guard and reserve members and those involved in active duty. S. 2099 would benefit reservists who accrue more than two years of active duty in any five-year period. S. 1898 would allow taxpayers to designate any or all of any income tax refund to support reservists and National Guard members. All three bills are awaiting committee approval before floor votes are taken.

Very Good Point, Bear.

...............of course,...nobody reads these pages but us whackos,

so,

rather than encouraging "Loose Lips" types to cool it,....

I KNOW !,....let's encourage em' to keep propagating and pushing a fear and panic style of text,.....no veracity required.

That should just produce splendid results, and general contentment.

The early 1940s Waterfront comes to mind,....whenever I encounter 5th columnists these days.

I wasn't there but I've been told, by those that were, that dealing with these type was somewhat simpler, and far more effective than a response post on the internet.

To the gentlemen gun advocates on the forum I am sorry, I received this article from another gun advocate, after looking into it it appears what they were referring to was the
"Handgun Safety and Registration Act of 2000."

which I suppose is being introduced again, if I understand it, you can find more info on this bill here
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=15480

To quote an excerpt: By Jon E. Dougherty
 2009 WorldNetDaily.com
Although a U.S. Senate bill that would require all handgun owners to register their firearms has received a great deal of publicity -- especially online -- in recent weeks, no action has been taken on it since WorldNetDaily first reported on the measure in March.

Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., chief sponsor of SB 2099.

The brainchild of Rhode Island Democrat Sen. Jack Reed, SB 2099 originally had no cosponsors. However, since being introduced into the Senate and referred to the Finance Committee, noted gun-control advocate and New York Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer, along with Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., have also signed on to it.

If passed, the measure would amend a 1986 IRS code to require the registration of handguns and other firearms. Specifically, the measure would require an amendment to Chapter 53 of the Internal Revenue Code (Machine Guns, Destructive Devices, and Certain Other Firearms) to "require the registration of handguns in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record...Also, a $50 tax would be assessed for every handgun made"

It's pretty easy to check on bills in the house and senate.
