It will knock a perfectly good whitetail in the dirt at extremly long ranges tho. Espc if you are using a 162gr A-max above published speeds even tho it is in all the books.

Something that has not yet been discussed, as BS has at all times dictated the frame of reference being "long range" is the aspect of powder charge to bullett crosssection.

This ratio for the 7mm-08 is 0,93 and for the .308 0,81 - clearly marking the .308 Win. as "better" for short barreled rifles as powder is burned more efficiently.

7mm-08 clearly sucks as a cartridge for Brush Guns.
