Only for a spike, although I almost never use it - lots of years I have just shot does. Each of the bucks pictured are from different years - the last few years, actually - seems I'm finally figuring out how to kill a few older bucks, but they still beat me a lot more often than I best them! Having lots of fun trying, though...Grin....

I thought Burnet Co. was a straight two buck county DJ? Or are you not in Burnet Co., I thought you were for some reason.

Fusion has worked very well for me. Several mule deer and antelope with 165 grain in a .308. All were DRT, bullets exited. Accuracy was great and matched my best hand loads.

Nice bucks there. Do you get the opportunity for more than one buck tag each year? Yes, and some counties you can take up to three bucks in one season in the same county plus does. Most counties here are two buck counties, or four deer counties as we call them (two bucks, two does per yr, or 4 does and no bucks etc. etc.) Bill

Bill Burnet Co is 2 buck, but I only killed one of the pictured bucks there years ago - don't hunt there much - home place is in Williamson Co - antler restricted, one buck. I do some guiding and culling on some big ranches elsewhere, but don't shoot any big deer there. Haven't killed more than one trophy buck in the same year that I can recall. DJ

I shot some of these before I started reloading. I took a bear, a moose, and a deer with them. Good performance, accurate and all the critters died.

180 Grain Fusions in 30.06 are very deadly on whitetail deer.

The only factory load more accurate in my .270, .30-06, and .300 Win Mags has been a Federal with the Barnes ttsx. Shot a nice sized buck with the .270 Fusion last season. High shoulder shot, spun him around and dropped him right there.

Fusion 165's shoot 3" 400yd groups out of a stock Rem 700 LTR in .308. I can't wait to field test 'em on a TROPHY 100 lb doe.
