Just traded myself into a nearly pristine, as in NOT SCREWED WITH Win model 1897 12 ga shotgun. Serial number is D 328043. Anybody kow what the D means in the serial number?All original, only slightly used, blueing is about 85-90% Wood finish also in the 90% or better range. Solid and tight everywhere. I can e-mail photos later today, I am thinking this gun should be worth $500.00 pretty easily but need help in establishing a good and fair but quick sale value. Help with establishing this price is appreciated!! I will be selling this, hopefully in the next day or two. As to trades, I need an AR15 upper with a longish heavy bbl, and a gloss scope of good quality in 3-9, 4-12 etc range. MARK

the shotgun you have was made in 1905. As for the D I am not sure might be a grading letter. Most people buy these to cut down for CAS shoots. Sounds like a nice one I would like to see picture if possible. I have 2 one original like this and one cut to 20" barrel.

I saw one today that had been refurbished by Winchester in 1952 for $500. It looked gorgeous.

Barrel length is 30 inches. Photos have been taken and will go out in a minute or three. Anyone else while I am at it?
