Does anyone have any info on these units for a Nov. Elk Hunt? My good friend & hunting partner drew it & we're trying to gather info on weather at that time & the possibility of 340" class bulls. Curious if it's possible or a pipe dream! (grin) I appreciate any info & possible areas to consider there? Thanks!

They shouldn't be available for a few more weeks. The NDOW website suggests June 19. Elknut1, how were you notified, or did you try to look it up?

They were posted on the website yesterday. My wife drew the same rut hunt for bulls I had last year. This time, were taking an extra video camera and camerman. Tim

Is that just the elk draw, I only put in for deer and can't find anything yet, it just says that application is in progress

No Sir it wasn't just the elk draw, they drew the deer tags as well. I think you may find results here! http://www.huntnevada.com/ ElkNut1

Oh okay, now I figured out how to navigate it. I got nothing. Dang it, probably for the better though.

WA, ID, OR, CO----All these states have over the counter Elk tags.
So does anyone have any info on a good starting point in unit 72, I've heard so far it's the better of the 2 units. The Jarbrigde Wilderness being an area to consider. We are considering drop camp or bringing horses ourselves. Thanks!

Try contacting these folks. They were real helpful to me last year on an antelope hunt:

072 has some nice bulls. In November the temps can vary from well below 0 to 75. Dry as a popcorn fart to past your butt in snow.

Talk to one of the biologists on the Elko NDOW office.
