It's very close to the Fibermark version that comes with pillars only. I own both rifles and the stocks both come with bedding pillars. The medalist has a full aluminum bedding block.

It is a nice stock, love that Pachymere decelerator! My 9 yr old shoots my 300 winmag with it (more than once).

What I hate about all stocks with the WBY style cheekpiece is that if you shoot it uphill from prone its real easy to lose track of where the back of the scope is. I've came close a few times to getting whacked, and my buddy Ed split himself open bad. He looked like Grand Veneur's Avatar
I'm Irish...
Of course I know how to patch drywall

It is my belief the the Submoa does not come from the factory with the Medalist stock. My submoa has the aluminum bedding block from the tang to the recoil lug but not full length. In fact it is a soft stock that can be easily flexed in your hands. If you go to Bell and Carlson's website ( http://www.bellandcarlson.com/), no where do they state that the Medalist has full length aluminum. They do however state: "The integral bedding system is computer designed and CNC machined out of aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum, and eliminates the need for conventional bedding, assures perfect fit and alignment of the barreled action and stiffens the forend." I suspect the Medalist is full length aluminum but I haven't handled one. An interesting side note is that I had a conversation with a Weatherby employee who admitted that his Sub Moa wears a Mickey stock because the factory one is too soft.

405 when you say "from the factory" do mean form Japan? The rifle action is shipped to Weatherby, the test them, those that shoot 3/4 inch or less may be pulled destined for the sub-moa line. Then they get target crown on the barrel,Sub-moa floor plate, bead blasted (if stainless steel) and a bell carlson/medalist stock. I noticed the action and the bolt are both numbered (nice touch).

405 the aluminum is full length, so King Kong would strain his milk flexing it! So "to soft" is odd at best. http://www.rifle-accuracy.com/medalss.htm

I just grabbed mine outta the safe and.........It is free floated so I pulled a piece of paper through I was able to flex the forend enough to resist the paper ( read flex/soft ) OK so it's not perfect I admit it. You should sell me your rifles cheap since the stocks all suck

I am not sure which B&C stock it is, but My last sub-MOA flexed a little more than I wanted after floating, so I acraglassed a couple of pieces of carbon arrow shaft into the forend, which solved that problem.

I got it today. Sweet stock, doesn't seem to have any forend flew to it to speak of. Looking foreward to see how it shoots. Certainly fits better than the orig factory job.

I have a sub moa blued w/ tan w/black spiderweb factory stock that came on it. I also have a rem 700 338 that I put a BC medalist on. The medalist is full length aluminum bedding block...the aluminum goes out into the forearm...its pretty stiff. The factory sub moa stock is a POS in my opinion. Its heavy and the fore arm flexes alot once you float it. This becomes apparent after you mount the bbl'ed action into it. simply the weight of the bbl'ed action makes it necessary to really float it in order to keep it from making contact between the bbl and fore arm under most all shooting positions. The end result is larger gap than I like to see between the bbl and fore arm of the stock. Thats my opinion. The medalist is a whole nother animal but still McMillan and HS Precision are probably better. My HS is.

Dufur I agree they probably are better, but I'm going to dance with who I brought....it shoots straight. I love the arrow idea, good thinking, desert muledeer!

So you have purchased a medalist stock from B&C, and it wasn't the same one that came on a submoa rifle? I mean one that says "submoa" on the flooor plate.
