Why this set up vs the NICE 6500? Seems like a lot of "pockets and lids and stuff" vs. one pack? Versatility?

Its a more compact system. The CC will pack up real tight against your back but then open up to carry a large load. The 6500 sticks up much taller.
I'm not saying its a better pack for you. Depending on your hunting and packing situation the 6500 may be better. It all depends on how your using it.
I own both of those packs and use them at different times and different situations.

Load cells sold separately aren't actually part of the current sale....
With the ACU Crew Cab sale we're basically throwing in the load cells when you buy the set for $550.

So I was looking at the Mystery Ranch website and I was wondering why the ACU Crew Cab was listed at 8 lbs 1 oz and the regular Crew Cab was listed at 7 lbs 12 oz? Also does anyone have experience with how the ACU pattern works in the mountains?

Camo not only adds weight, its over-rated I've killed at least a deer a year (usually more) for 20 years wearing a BLAZE ORANGE vest (Montana requires it...) Seriously, I don't know why the listed weight difference between the two. I know my Crew Cab is on the heavy side, but I swear it takes off 10 Lbs of pack weight once its on. Hands down the most comfortable pack I've owned.

My guess would be the ACU package was weighed with medium yoke and belts and the regular CC with small yoke and belts.

Do the cerberus and the crew cab have the same nice frame? One is rated for 120 lbs and the other 100 lbs. What are the biggest advantages of the crew cab over the cerberus? Thanks Dean

Eyeguy~
The only difference is the Cerberus is on the CBMR NICE Frame and the Crew Cab is on the Mystery Ranch USA built NICE Frame....
IMO... the biggest advantage of the Crew Cab over the Cerberus is VERSATILITY. The Crew Cab can handle any situation from 800 Cubic Inch Daypack to 5000+ Cubic Inch expedition pack. If you like a single compartment main bag that's more of a traditional system.... the Cerberus is right up your alley. It can be compressed for dayhunts and still handle the lightweight expeditions.....

I just ordered the cerberus- I figure in conjunction with a load sling it'll cover all my needs, though it'll undoubtedly get plussed up by a crew cab later too. This all started on EBAY looking for another terraplane- so my old overkill can be hunting exclusive. and still have a great back pack for family outings in the chugach etc.

I have really been looking at the Crew Cab and was wondering how the ACU camo will do out in California. I hunt both the sierra nevadas, which is pine and granite, and coastal mountains which is oaks and dry grasses. I know camo is the last priority but was just curious since I wont be able to see it in person.- thanks for the help
