It is, indeed, a force of nature! :-)

Is it an evil force? A benevolent force? An IRRESITABLE force, meeting the immovable object of people's perceptions?

Only the historians will be able to sort that one out.

Fished for sturgeon in the Columbia with long, extremely stout rods, Penn 6/0 reels and 80# Maxima. We used fillets of lamprey on a 6/0 treble. One morning we were awakened to an awful yowling and rattling, bouncing sort of noise... LOTS of noise!

Buddy's wife's cat had jumped about 4' in the air to grab a baited treble (likely from the bumper and not nearly so far) and was suspended.

It was not a pretty picture; his wife was very unhappy; I remember vet bill discussions but do not remember if the cat went that route...

Wow. record useless thread.

Here's my first 7mm-08 success. The cartridge performed flawlessly, as did the bullet, which I don't know what it was. It was the first time I fired it, a loaner. Big bird.

I've been equally impressed with the 7mm-08 on rabbits. Clearly superior to the 308.

Actually what I was wondering was with the pics of the big horned deer and now the giant turkey, if you by chance were hunting a game ranch whistle

Good thing that won't a deer. So much blue on ya, hell, the deer would likely have had a stroke and died from fright alone.
