I bought one (BAR.22)for my wife as part of her Christmas in 1981.I got it for $90 at an Otasco Store,it was on close out. This little rifle has worked great without any problems with every kind of ammo it's been fed since the day it came out of the box.It really has been a great gun.I haven't seen one for sale in a gun store in years.

Browning stopped production years ago. Been about 5 years since I have seen one at a gunshow. Every now and then one will be on Gunbroker, in the $600 range.

I bet they are accurate rifles. Nice .22 to have around since it was new!

I know of one and keep thinking about getting it, I need it like a hole in the head but there cool. What is fair money on one in about 85 to 90% condition?

What a beautiful rifle ...

I have had the little Browning take-down .22 semi-auto rifle ever since I was a kid in 1958. It's still my favorite .22 rifle.

I have never ever seen the BAR .22 rifle, or even knew it ever existed ... until now.

If I had ever happened to have seen one ... I sure would have one NOW.

I've got one, ran across it at the local gunshop a couple years back, and when I saw the 200 buck price tag, it didn't leave my hands. Another customer had put it back on the wall, made a lap in the store to think about it. He told me as I was filling out the yellow form. Sorry. He who hesitates is lost.

The BAR .22 is a very nice looking rifle. I will admit that I thought it would have a box magazine rather then tubular for looks to be similar with the WWII BAR, but overall it looks like a mighty fine rifle.

I owned three BAR .22s. I have sold two of them. The one I currently own is the High Gloss, pistol grip, steel receiver. Someone may have already discussed the BAR variations. I think they are very good looking rifles. I like the weight and the fit of the rifle. I also have one of the Browning BPR rifles in .22 magnum. The pumps look very similar to the BARs.

I bought one in '91 with a missing cartridge guide. Took awhile to find the part but it shot well. Someone offered me a nice profit so I took it. It was a great shooter but I think the Winchester 63 is as nice.
