What are the correct sights for the model 19? I found one that has a receiver sight that looks original and a front sight that looks like a Lyman 57. The gun shoots 10-12 inches high at 25 yd with the receiver sight at its lowest adjustment. Also it ocasionally will not fire due, I believe, to a weak firing pin spring or short firing pin, because the shells have a very light firing pin mark. I would appreicate any help or comments. Thanks, Mike

If its "Made in America", its not setting on a container ship!
These copies from catalogs show the standard front sight that was used until 1940 (catalog #74)when a hooded front was listed as standard. A couple different hooded front sights were optional or offered on special versions until then - like the 19M - extra heavy barrel and hooded front. The sight CTW shows is the one pictured in the catalog. The model 19 was no longer listed in catalog #76 with price list dated Jan 2, 1942.
