We touched on this on another thread not long ago...seems the other Bozo vehicular accessory is a Lab, preferably black or chocolate in the back named " Bridger" or " Madison"...
When I lived there it was pickups and cowdogs...and I still prefer to roll that way

For the thread.. we are gonna hafta get a link to BeeGees " Stayin' Alive"...

Still waiting down here for the creeks to clear up enough for the fish to see a fly, or my dog to wade across without being swept away. Matter of fact I was going to get out all the tackle this week, sort, put on new line etc.( I fish with hardware too, but just can't bring myself to use garden hackle...)
You been workin' graveyards or what? I see alot of your posts are during insomniac happy hour... tired
Anyway, till I get some pics this season, heres one of me and the dog getting a brown...

Eric, if I didn't want to oar that RO on the Flathead, I'd call you a dick laugh Schitt yeah, you bring your new toy up to my neighborhood and I'd be glad to show you around. The N Frok in early to Mid July usually has a Caddisfly and Mayfly hatch about that time. If that happens and the NOAA site says the river is 5' 400 fish days are possible. But, if you aren't really paying attention, you'll skin a rock or 2 (and you'll bottom out at least once.) Running Fool Hen in a Driftboat can be interesting too. From Blankenship down is real nice country for a Driftboat in the later summer (even through October if you don't bowhunt)

I'll PM you my numbers.. We should do that laugh

Ingwe, yeah I got bounced back to Swing. Which with curtailments and layoffs is now 3PM to 1AM. Ironically the Specialty Wood Products area is going apeshit right now. I'm on the overlay press, and we're burried. Last week we did a bunch of HDO's (used for architectural pours on concrete work) Next week we're doing two huge orders for TODCO and Shamrock Doors (all 3/4" panels frown ). They tell us that our dept is booked up through early August right now... I get stuck working a lot of Fridays, and the rumor is the two shifts will be going to 12's before too long (which means B shift will get the shaft and work 5-5)

Sounds like a plan Dan. I have a good buddy in Missoula so I should be able to convince him to fish smile

There's some spots in there you can see off the highway that scream "There's fish right here!!!" But then if its like the N Fork, the Postcard Tourist holes don't produce that well.

Dan; Ya got that right, we fished it this side of Rock Creek, caught some nice ones out in the riffles ( which alot of it is...) then the others were in tiny pockets, out of the way, culverts etc....Numbers of fish were not high, but quality was good...
Like this dude my partner caught..

I really need to get together a 6 weight rod one of these days. I'm tired of loosing tippet and flies on the bigguns half the time.

The Clarks Fork is definitely big enough water that a guy could get some use out of an 8 or even 9 ft. 6 to 7 weight...If you like dries, hopper time is best for the meat eaters, otherwise of course stuff like buggers or streamers, or as you can see in the photos, hardware...if you don't find it abhorrent... whistle

Knowing your taste is as expensive as mine, I'll say without reservation that the 9.5 Winston BIIx is the finest Montana 6 wt out there...ask me how I know ;)Good for tossing junk and dredging hogs out of their lairs.....Glad to see others getting out there and having fun. The Swan is insane right now; chuck and duck. The "sought after fish" I told you about in the PM were still iced in, but it should go any day now and I'll get back up there sometime after the fourth. Spent today getting the pontoon ready for the annual Georgetown Trophy Brookie Fest, tying flies, ordering the half barrel. Tuesday Southbound, up early am Wednesday and start the fun. I'll be down there until the fourth. My wrist will be hurting by then......

Ingwe, who needs blue ribbon water when there's so much other to see and fish? Got a nice little creek here and can still count on catching a few 24"ers every year, despite the best attempts of the rez meat hunters to empty the thing...[bleep] are lazy though and don't walk to some of the really good holes grin Tough living here in Paradise, eh?

The son and I slayed em this weekend on the upper Rogue. Royal Coachmen and dunns mostly. Have been known to drift a egg pattern under a log or rock shelf on occation. Really dig flinging flies but would never consider myself a purist. Seeing how I like women.

Don't worry Ingwe. I still have a spinning rod somewhere here. I just enjoy the hell out of fly-fishing. Its more like Trout Hunting than fishing. Dry flies when the action is good is about the funnest thing you can do after Spring Bear, but before Archery General, WITH clothes on laugh

I also enjoy the hell out of bowhunting with a 60 Lb Schaeffer Silvertip, but I still kill critters with a thunderstick...

I want a drift boat pretty bad, but I promise to oar it in a sleeveless T-Shirt while doing my best to look like the Caucasian Debris that I really am laugh

So, no... I don't have anything against hardware.

Whip, its going to be a while before I can sink anymore coin into another rod build. But I hear good things about the Winston blanks. I might try one next wink Good luck in Georgetown. Just remember, the worst day fishing doesn't suck as bad as the best day working
