Hi Folks,

Was wondering if the "Model 700 Experts" out there
could give me some needed information. Was the model
700 BDL ever offered in other than a gloss stock?
I thought in the past, Remington sold them with an oil
finished stock; maybe a "limited edition"?. If
anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated...

Regards,
Sean

I had a new BDL take off stock that looked like it had been oiled. The pores were open and it was definately not shiney. It was a spankin' new stock. Looked like it was stained too if I remember correctly. Ugly. Ken

Can't remember for sure but in 81 I bought a Remmy in 270 with an oil stained stock with what looked like a parkized finish which I thought was and Ideal hunting rifle. Sold it to my brother in law when the wife bought me a new 7400 in 06 for Christmas a month later. One of my bigger mistakes, 7400 sets in the corner with less than a box of rounds through it. Not sure it was a 700 didn't have it long enough to remember but It was a new rifle bought at K-Mart with an oil stained stock.
